JetBlue – All You Can Jet Pass

I would like to announce that JetBlue is now the official carrier of The Second Third.  They do not know this, but I’m sure they will be thrilled.

We all know air travel is terrible and has only gotten worse in recent years.  Forced to cut corners to stay in business, the airlines have systematically squeezed every last drop pleasure from the flying experience.  The only good thing about the morbid state of the airline industry is that the airlines are being forced to come up with increasingly clever ways to encourage their favorite demographic(The Second Third) to fly more often.

As such, JetBlue is trying to win us over with their new All You Can Jet Pass, and I have t say, it sounds like a pretty sweet deal.

Fly as much as you want from September 8th – October 8th.  There are a few restrictions, but just think about what you can do with this.  Even if you have no vacation time to use up, you could take four weekend trips throughout the month – all for just $599.

I will absolutely be picking four new places to visit during the month of September.

Here are the details:

  • $599 for a month of unlimited travel, any available seat
  • On sale through Friday, August 21, 2009, or while supplies last
  • Travel Dates: Tuesday, September 8, 2009 through Thursday, October 8, 2009
  • Each flight must be booked no later than 11:59 p.m. MDT three days prior to the flight’s scheduled departure.
  • Nonrefundable/nontransferable/no name changes permitted

Changes or Cancellations

  • Greater than three (3) days before a flight: $0 change/cancellation fees
  • Less than three (3) days before a flight: JetBlue’s standard change/cancel fees apply

The “All You Can Jet” pass does have some unique restrictions — for example, travelers must buy the pass and book their travel on the phone, a restriction that’s unusual for an airline that’s so web-focused.

The pass also carries particularly heavy penalties for failing to make a flight: A no-show who doesn’t call to change or cancel a flight could see their remaining “All You Can Jet” flights canceled.
